Ethan Hunt from Mission: Impossible is a tough and independent guy. He seems capable of conquering the bad guys single‑handedly while keeping a world of innocent people safe. Yet, Ethan Hunt knows one thing – he cannot do it alone. He has a team that works alongside him, each bringing their talents to support the mission.
We Were Never Meant to Stand Alone
From the beginning, God declared, “It is not good for man to be alone.” We were built for intimacy, brotherhood, camaraderie, and standing shoulder to shoulder.
The life of faith isn’t a solo expedition. It’s about walking together in the Spirit: a brotherhood – standing side by side, sharpening one another, carrying burdens together, and refusing to let each other fall. Our families and communities need men who will step into the fight, stand in faith, push back against the enemy’s lies, and reclaim the connections we were meant for.
Why Boys Need Brotherhood
Many boys feel alone and miss the connection with a father or father figure in their lives. They have no one to stand beside them and show them how to walk in the Spirit and stand in faith. The Boys’ Brigade, a ministry of your local church, steps into the breach and shows boys they are not alone in the world.
BB: A Ministry of the Local Church
BB doesn’t stand apart from the church — it exists because of the church. It is one of the ways a congregation extends its ministry beyond Sunday services and into the everyday lives of boys who desperately need godly men around them. When a church embraces BB, it isn’t just running a program; it is discipling the next generation, shaping character, and creating spaces where boys encounter Jesus through consistent, faithful relationships. BB becomes an expression of the church’s heart for mission, mentoring, and community — a practical outworking of the call to “go and make disciples” within its own neighbourhood.

The Object: Making the Mission Possible
At the heart of The Boys’ Brigade is our Object: “The advancement of Christ’s Kingdom among boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self‑Respect, and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.” This isn’t just a statement on a wall — it is the blueprint that makes the mission possible.
Boys today are navigating a world full of noise, pressure, and confusion about identity and purpose. The Object gives them a clear, life‑giving pathway: to know Christ, to grow in character, and to become men who stand firm in faith. When leaders live out the Object with consistency and conviction, boys discover that becoming a man of God isn’t an impossible task reserved for the few — it is a journey they can walk, step by step, surrounded by brothers, mentors, and a church community committed to their growth.
A Call to Men: Step Into the Mission
BB is calling out to men from local churches to step up, lock shields with other men, and surround boys, standing firm in faith and encouraging them to connect more deeply with God. You can be a BB leader in your local group, even if you attend a different church.
A Call to Churches: Mission Possible
BB is also calling out to Qld Churches to embrace the Mission and help boys realise that their pathway to become a man of God is Mission: Possible.
“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
